Apply For Teaching Assistantships in Civilization Studies (2022-23)
Only registered University of Chicago PhD students are eligible for these positions. Applications for 2022-23 are now being accepted and reviewed on a rolling basis.
PhD students who matriculated in Summer 2016 or later may only accept teaching positions that fulfill their degree program’s teaching requirement. Before applying, please consult with your department to determine whether you are eligible to accept a position in the Civilization Studies program.
Required Supplemental Materials
To apply for an assistantship in the Social Sciences Collegiate Division, submit the online application and upload the supplemental materials. All documents, with the exception of the recommendation, must be submitted in a single PDF. You must submit a separate online application for each internship. You may use the same set of supplemental materials for multiple applications, or you may choose to submit a separate set of supplemental materials for each application in order to relate your qualifications to the interests of a particular sequence. Assistantships last one quarter, but you may be appointed to multiple quarters in the following sequences:
Teaching Assistants must be registered students at the University of Chicago during each quarter of the internship.
