Apply For Humanities Collegiate Division Lectureships

APPLICANTS WITH A PH.D. FROM THE UNIVERSITY OF CHICAGO OR ANOTHER INSTITUTION

These instructions and application form are for job candidates who will have received a Ph.D. from the University of Chicago or another institution by June, 2019. Your application for a lectureship in the Humanities Collegiate Division Core consists of two parts:

  • the online form below with the indicated supplemental materials
  • a separate application submitted through the University of Chicago's Academic Careers website (https://academiccareers.uchicago.edu) to job posting #03639.

    Both parts of your application must be submitted by March 31, 2019.

    Required Supplemental Materials for Job Candidates Holding a Ph.D.

    Please note: if you are applying to multiple lectureships, you must submit a separate online application for each lectureship, but you are only required to complete one application through the University of Chicago's Academic Careers website. You may use the same supplemental materials for multiple applications, or you may choose to submit a separate set of supplemental materials for each application in order to relate your qualifications to the interests of a particular sequence.

    • Cover Letter that also contains a brief statement of teaching philosophy (PDF)
    • Current CV (PDF)
    • Proof of Ph.D. (a copy or picture of your diploma, your final transcript from the university registrar, or an official letter of degree conferral from your institution)
    • Copies of teaching evaluations from prior teaching experience, if any (limit 5 pages) (PDF)
    • Two letters of recommendation from faculty members familiar with your work (If preferred, these can be emailed by the faculty member directly to hcd-jobs@uchicago.edu. It is also acceptable to provide recommendations through a credential service such as Interfolio.)
